of the activity

Meet at 9:00 AM at the clue of St. Auban (See access planor 10:00 at the Riolan bridge in SigaleSee access plan).

If you find the guide in Saint Auban, you will then follow them to Sigale (45 mins drive, it would be wise to check your fuel). In Sigale, the ABOARD Rafting guide will organise a shuttle to drop off vehicles at the canyon's finish point.

After kitting you out, they'll give a briefing on abseiling techniques and canyon safety.

Then, we will do an approach walk (15 mins.) to the entrance of the canyon.

The Riolan is a magnificent canyon whose descent is very aquatic, mainly done by swimming in sometimes very narrow meanders that open onto large pools or weave under large boulders.

A good number of jumps (maximum 6m) – optional – and a few abseils (maximum 15m) will punctuate the swimming sections.

The canyon is in places formed by impressive limestone walls measuring up to 300m high, and holds the surprise of a waterslide that is sure to provide a thrill!

NB: At ABOARD Rafting, we prefer to run the Riolan from the upper access point to enjoy the entire course, well above the old Roman bridge, from which shorter descents depart...

Although all jumps are optional and can be rappelled, it is nevertheless necessary to be able to jump at least 2.5m given the configuration of this canyon.
